Record

Brave Sound recording services are available in our Park Slope studio (near Atlantic Ave Barclays Center [23/BD/45/NQRW] and [Hoyt-Schermerhorn A/G]).

Off-site recording services are also available in all NYC boroughs, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Let’s build something.

As a not-for-profit organization, we strive to work within a musician’s reasonable budget constraints. We also often have non-monetary needs that can often be exchanged for services as well. All projects are quoted on a case-by-case basis.

Here are a few things to consider when deciding whether Brave Sound is the right studio for your next project!

1) We value musical connection over peak fidelity. There are no vocal booths, headphone monitors, or drum shields at Brave Sound. This does mean less flexibility in post-production, but we really believe that for music that explores improvisation, interaction, or any allowance for unpredictability, unisolated, single room performances are just unmatched.

2) Since we capture live, single room performances, Brave Sound recordings never contain “fixes”. This is just not really possible with our recording style. We can however overdub strings, woodwinds, or whatever you want to a previously recorded performance.

For audition recordings, demos, YouTube videos, or similar, we are happy to track, mix and master together in a package. We are also happy to record and edit video of your session.

For albums we recommend Dave Darlington‘s (Bass Hit Studios) excellent mastering services.
